If you are using macOS, download and install the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client from the App Store.
All operating systems
In the remoteit Desktop application Devices view, click on the "RDP" button as shown:
Next, click on "Create Connection":
Once you see the blue button which has changed to "Stop Connection", click on the clipboard icon to copy the connection string to the clipboard).
Windows
Launch the Remote Desktop Client.
Type CTRL-V to paste the connection string into the "Computer" field as shown, then click on "Connect".
You'll see a security warning the first time you make this connection. If you wish to suppress this warning for subsequent connections, select the "Don't ask me again..." checkbox. Click on "Connect".
After a few moments, you'll see this dialog asking for your password. As there is no password configured on the demo service, just click on OK:
You'll see one last security warning. If you wish to suppress this warning for subsequent connections, select the "Don't ask me again..." checkbox. Finally, click on "Yes".
You've now made an RDP connection to the AWS Guest VPC RDP server.
Please note that the session time limit is set to two minutes on the AWS Guest VPC RDP server.
macOS
Launch the Microsoft Remote Desktop application.
Click on "Add PC":
Paste the connection string you copied into the "PC Name" field with CMD-V. Leave "User account" set to "ask when required". Now click on "Add".
You'll now see a new entry for this PC in the application window. Double click on this to launch it.
Enter the user name demo. There is no password. Click on "Continue".
You'll see the following security warning. Click on "Continue" to proceed.
You've now made an RDP connection to the AWS Guest VPC RDP server.
Please note that the session time limit is set to two minutes on the AWS Guest VPC RDP server.
