Step 4. Find the Instance in remote.it

The next step in this process is to locate and connect to your newly created EC2 Instance using remote.it. Once you connect to your Instance, you can use the remote.it Admin Panel to add connections to other Instances and Services within AWS.

Your EC2 Instance will be assigned a unique Instance ID in AWS. This Instance ID will be the name of the Instance in the remote.it Desktop App.

Download the Desktop App for Windows and macOS here: remote.it Downloads Page

Your Instance will appear in your Device List after the Instance state changes to "Running" in the EC2 Console. This usually takes 1 to 3 minutes.

As you can see, my new Instance has appeared in my Desktop App!

The Instance will already have the remote.it Admin Panel installed as a Service. Using the Admin Panel, you can add additional Services (like SSH) and use the Instance to create secure connections to other Instances and Services within AWS. Also, you can edit the Instance in remote.it and rename it so it's easier to keep track of it!

You can also share your Instance, or specific Services hosted on your Instance, with the remote.it Web Portal.

Now for the final step of the tutorial; connecting to another Instance or Service using remote.it.
